  6. Requirements 1. Accessibility for maintenance for both CKOV1 and TOF0 on both sides of the beam line 2. Vertical and transverse remote adjustments to center on the beam Typically ~ +/- 5 cm horizontally and vertically 3. As much longitudinal free space as possible for safety purposes (rescue via crane in case of emergency) Proposal from meeting (PD, WL, GG) at RAL on May 3-4 Movable platform + 10 /- 30 cm horizontally +/- 5 cm vertically Max load = 1 ton 4

The design: Overall dimension is 2201 x 1430 x 1121mm Distance between Quadrupole Q6 and TOF0 is 369 mm along the beam line Deflection on Table Base is 0.35 mm Manual drive in both vertical and horizontal axis Design agreed by the working group and is being submitted to the TB for PRR (Production readiness review) The production: Plate materials for the stand have been ordered. Should be able to start cutting metal by the end of September if we receive the approval from MICE. Fabrication takes 8 – 10 weeks; Assembly of moveable parts takes another 2 – 3 weeks for trial and testing Summary on CKOV and TOF0 support

TOF Shielding Cage Oxford’s scope of work:- To provide concept design of the assembly arrangement of the Virostek Shield and the TOF shield with removable “shielding” arrangement to allow the TOF to slide in and out of the cage; To provide a safe and practical anchoring and supporting arrangement of the shielding cage assembly onto the Spectrometer module; To ensure that the assembly meets the physics requirement; To provide a set of engineering drawing fit for the purpose of fabrication.

Status: Design has now completed and have been checked by Ghislian; Assembly procedure also written; A full set of engineering drawings are now deposited on the Oxford MICE webpage; In our view the drawings are fit for the purpose of fabrication. However, we should, as usual, conduct a PRR before cutting metal.
