Student Learning Agenda: At the end of lesson, students should be able to: • Conjugate the verb TENER in present tense forms. • Identify clothing items needed for vacationing. • Use the expression TENER QUE to tell what someone has to do.
DO IT NOWHAZLO AHORA Knowledge you should bring to class: You should come to class being able to conjugate the verb TENER in all of its present tense forms. Please demonstrate your ability to do this. Pre-Assessment of Today’s Lesson: Using your highest level of proficiency tell what you have to pack if you are vacationing to the beach? Mountains? Tell why you have to pack these items.
Actividad #1 LOS ASIENTOS MUSICALES While the music is on, walk around the room in a circle around the chairs. When the music stops, race back to your seat. The last person to sit down in his/her seat, must… • Choose an article of clothing at random • Tell if you have to pack that article of clothing for a beach vacation. Answer must be in a complete sentence in Spanish. If correct – stay in the game! If incorrect – you are out! Don’t worry…you may get back into the game if you can correctly answer a question that someone else gets wrong.
Actividad #2 ADIVINA QUIEN Challenge your opponent to a game of guess who. Take turns asking and answering yes or no questions about the items a person needs to pack for vacation. Use your opponent’s answers to determine who he or she is. PEER/SELF EVALUATION: Please evaluate your opponent’s ability and your own ability to ask and answer questions using TENER QUE and Clothing Vocabulary. Complete “Billete de Evaluación.”
