ETS • will lead you toRoHS… • Start ofRoHS on 1 July 2006 • RoHS-Directive 2002/95/EC • (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) • New electrical and electronic equipment put on the market does not contain lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated biphenyl ethers (PBDE) with more than 0.1 weight percent and no cadmium with more than 0.01 weight percent. • This shall apply to electrical and electronic equipment falling under the following categories according to WEEE 2002/96/EC: • Large and small household appliances • IT and telecommunications equipment • Consumer equipment • Lighting equipment • Electrical and electronic tools • Toys, leisure and sports equipment • Automatic dispensers • and also electric light bulbs and luminaries in households according to Article 2 of the RoHS-Directive.
