LDP Extensions for Multi Topology Routing Q. Zhao – Huawei E. Chen - Huawei L. Fang – Cisco C. Zhou – Cisco K. Kamran – Cisco L. Li – China Mobile Et al. D. King – Old Dog Consulting IETF 84 - Vancouver
Motivation • Multi-Topology (MT) routing is supported in IP networks with the use of MT aware IGP protocols. • In order to provide MT routing within Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) networks new extensions are required. • This document describes the LDP protocol extensions required to support MT routing in an MPLS environment. Current Status & Next Steps • draft-ietf-mpls-ldp-multi-topology-04 • Reduced text, moved Requirements and Use Cases to Appendix. • Implementation feedback has been blended into the document. • Recently updated error handling & use cases. • Document is relatively stable. • Next Steps • We would like final reviews from other implementers. • Use Cases • Procedures • Error Handling • Looking to Last Call next month.
