What Must We Do Now in 2006-2007 ? • New teachers training for 3rd and 4th grade(August 23, 24, 25 – Miles ES) • 43 teachers new to 3rd grade @ year round schools [25] • 18 teachers new to 4th grade @ year round schools • x new to 3rd & 4th @ traditional—TBD • Logistics: School sites (3rd and 4th grades) • Three Day Training for Grade Level Teachers
What Must We Do Now in 2006-2007 ? • 4th and 5th Grade Rollout • Cohort IV: Single Track Schools September 18 and September 20 21, 22 • 5th Only: Fishburn, Liberty, Loma Vista • 4th and 5th: Heliotrope, Holmes, Hope, HP #7, Lillian, Madison, Maywood #5, Pacific, Park, Stanford, Tweedy, Victoria, Vernon City • School Training Window: October 3 to October 6 • Unit Implementation Window: October 9 to November 22

In Light of our Guiding Questions What are the supports and elements necessary for successful implementation of the Practicum that will help our teachers become more proficient second language instructors and our students attain greater linguistic competency in English as their second language?
