Infants • Once an infant has been separated from the mother it becomes involved in obtaining its own nutrients. Because of their rapid growth an infant will require more calories per pound of body weight than any other stage of life. Infants will also need a higher proportion of their calories from fat.
Teenagers • Males will generally experience their adolescent growth spurt from the ages of 12 to 15. • Males will gain around 70 pounds due to hormones. • Females will generally experience their adolescent growth spurt from the ages of 10 to 13. • The iron deeds of a female will be higher than that of a male. • A female will gain about 53 pounds due to hormones Male Female
Adults • With an increase in the amount of cells within the body as well as in increase in the activity partaken the required nutrition needs will also increase. • A persons energy needs will increase from what was required when they were younger adults.
Women during pregnancy • in order to provided for the newly developing fetus the female body’s required water, vitamins, and miners will increase during pregnancy and they will increase even more during lactation.
Older adults • As the body begins to age the energy needs will begin to decrease along with the number of cells within the body. • Living a active lifestyle can have a positive effect on the decrease in the body's performance.
Conclusion • In conclusion I found that the infant requires a great amount of energy because of its rapid growth. From there a child will require more and more as he or she grows larger and begins partaking in more activates. As an individual ages even more and begins to loose cells they will require a smaller amount of energy to function.
