  2. Facts • He wanted to gain political office in Tarqunii but was unable to due to his Corinthian ethnicity through his father. He therefore moved to Rome. • There he became the guardian of the sons of AncusMarcius, after whose death he became king.

  3. Facts (continued) • As king he created the Circus Maximus, cloacae (sewers), and started building the temple of Jupiter. • He was the first to wear a purple and gold robe. • He was killed by command of the sons of AncusMarcius.
