  2. Career Info • Bachelors Degree in Education-Southern Illinois University • 6th year in district • 3rd year fifth grade teacher • 2nd year as Boy’s Basketball Coach

  7. Think Central (MATH) • Math Textbooks can be found on Think Central (in case a student leaves it at school) • login/password (assignment Notebook) • Extra Practice, online version of the textbook • Extra content (games, teacher, lessons)

Assignment/Class work Policy *Students will receive Math homework daily (TBD) (time is always given in class to start assignments – homework should ALWAYS be coming home to get checked) *Parents will be notified about missing/incomplete assignment(s) through a Walker Missing/Incomplete Notice(pink sheet). - Students who receive 5 combined missing assignments (pink sheets) will have mandatory study hall for two days of the week. If assignments continue to go unfinished, more days of mandatory study hall will be added for the remainder of the quarter.

  9. Grading Scale • District wide – 50%-100% • If a student receives a 27% on an assignment, a 50% will be recorded in the grade book and a comment can be made to indicate the 27%

  10. Assessment Request Retake / Corrections • Students will have one week after a SUMMATIVE assessment to request a retake (ABC). (***Only ONE request to retake can be made per subject per quarter***) • D or F (students will be presented the opportunity to retake) • Student fills out retake forms AND works with the teacher • Student forms / request packet must be filled out (parent signature required for student to retest) • **If required materials are not completed, student can be denied the opportunity to retake the assessment • Date TBD by teacher and retest will be given during study hall time (lunch/intramurals)

Discipline Policy • PBIS – Positive behavior = PAWS (can be used to purchase items in the pawmart)(popcorn/nacho days) • Students can receive PAWS for following classroom expectations, arriving and dismissing appropriately, helping a friend, following hallway expectations, all teachers in the school can give to a student. • Consequences that can occur are as follows but not limited to: verbal warning, lunch detention, phone call home, a conference with the teacher, change of seat, referral, and/or visit to the office. • In the classroom a student will be given 2 warnings, on the 3rd warning a referral will be given (situation pending) • Please read the Summit Hill 161 Handbook for important information regarding district/school rules and procedures. (It can also be accessed on the website)

Important Pieces • Parent-Teacher Conferences (ONLINE) late October/November (more info to come from district) • Please refer to HANDBOOK specifically at the weapons policy and appearance code • Students have a handbook in their assignment notebook for reference please review with your child • REMINDapp – Please sign up for your child’s class AM or PM
