  2. Wisdom teeth that are not removed should continue to be monitored since the potential for developing problems later still exists.

  3. As you age, you are at greater risk for health problems, including problems with your wisdom teeth.

  4. Regular dental visits are important so we can evaluate not just your wisdom teeth but your overall oral health to prevent dental disease.

  5. Wisdom teeth may need to be removed when there is evidence of changes in the mouth such as: pain; infection; cysts; tumors; damage to adjacent teeth; gum disease; and tooth decay.

  6. Our doctors may also suggest removing your wisdom teeth to prevent problems or for others reasons such as when removal is part of an orthodontic, restorative or periodontal treatment plan.

  7. Good oral hygiene habits and regular dental checkups, including professional cleanings at our office and examinations, can help control the progression of gum disease and other oral health problems linked to diabetes.
