Why Video? • A video is worth a lot of text chatting! • Live video for external “expert” visits. • An Archived video library can support individual needs. • Adds a personal touch and a little RL in our virtual world.
Format • Live streaming in RSTP QuickTime format • Video on demand, downloads from a server as you watch • Video is a client side burden, not SL
Setting the Media URL • Each parcel can display one media item by external URL • You must own the parcel or have admin rights by being in a group • Preferences (Edit Menu> Preferences) under the "Media" tab. Make sure the "Play Streaming Media When Available" box is checked
Setting the Media URL • Access About World window • Media tab, select media type = video.Select unique solid color texture. • Set media url to a video on your server or live stream.
