  1. What can a verb indicate? A state of being: Betty isintelligent. An action: My neighbor has bought a new car. What the subject is like or what it becomes: That child seems frightened.

  2. What is an auxiliary verb? It is a verb which does not stand on its own, but assists the main verb in creating meaning, tense and aspect. Where did Andy buy this camera? They aren´tgoing with us aux verb main verb

  4. What do verb tenses indicate? They indicate a point in time or period in the past, present or future. My sister lives in Washington. (Simple Present Tense) The mail came early this morning. (Simple Past Tense ) By next July, my parents will have been married for 50 years. (Future Perfect tense )
