Our Responsibility!!! Many SalonCentric products are hazardous and therefore regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Strict rules must be followed when shipping these products to customers. Serious violations result in large fines. DOT training every three years
SalonCentric AIR Shipping Policy • Product is NOT to be shipped via AIR freight for any reason. • If a non product related package is going to be shipped air it must be logged, inspected by the warehouse manager and signed off on. Ex- envelopes, computer hardware….
SMALLPACKAGE SHIPPING (1)Many types of small package carriers, all of which must follow DOT regulations
Small Package Shipping (2)DOT Shipping Procedure • All proper DOT labeling will be done in the billing area… • Biller scans package barcode
SMALL PACKAGE SHIPPING (3)If the package contains ORM-D or Fully Regulated Material, the Biller will be prompted to apply the appropriate DOT-Label
Small Package Shipping (4)All outbound packages must be labeled properly • Packages that contain ORM-D material must have the following- • Up Arrows on opposing sides • Arrows must meet DOT size and color standards. • ORM-D label must on one side of the package • Box must be tested to meet 32 ECT specifications (labeled on the bottom
Small Package Shipping (5)All outbound packages must be labeled properly • Packages that contain fully regulated material, must have the following information on the boxes and must be certified. • Up Arrows on opposing sides • Arrows must meet DOT size and color standards. • UN Description must be on the box • Proper placard must be on the box on opposing sides.
Store Order Shipping (1) • All DOT labeling will be done in picking for both full cases and totes. • If the package contains ORM-D or Fully Regulated Material, the Picker will be prompted by the wearable to apply the appropriate DOT-Label and up arrow labels on opposing sides of the box or tote. • The picker can not move to the next package until the proper DOT-labels are applied and the carton or tote is scanned “complete”
QA Random ORM-D packages will be directed by the system to QA for inspection of the following- • Up arrows on opposing sides of the package • Proper location of ORM-D label • Proper packaging to meet DOT requirements for ORM-D packages (32 ECT) • Proper Label location
QAAll Fully Regulated cartons will be directed by the system to Quality Control for inspection of the following- • Up arrows on opposing sides of the package • Proper DOT-Label • Proper packaging to meet DOT requirements for fully regulated material • Proper Label location • Proper markings on package • UN#, Description, Box Type…..
