Post Compulsory Secondary Education • Eniaia Lykeia (Unified Upper Secondary Schools) – 3 years • or EPAL – 2 or 3 years (Vocational Education) There are also in operation: • Musical Education • Physical Education • Ecclesiastical Education • Esperina (evening) Gymnasia and Lyceums, • Vocational Training Institutes (IEK)

  6. Special education • Special pre-school • Special primary schools • Special lower level secondary and higher level secondary education schools Around 250 independent special schools operate for children with special needs.

  7. Intercultural education • 26 intercultural schools for foreigners and ex-patriates pupils • 232 minority schools for pupils from the Muslim minority of Thrace
