    1. Res-Q-Jack A dynamic class presented by FF Zach Johnson Specifications, Capabilities, Limitations, and Applications

    3. Why have the res-q-jack? The jack is useful in: vehicle accidents, bleacher collapse, confined space rescue, vehicle/ machinery entrapment, light aircraft and many more.

    4. Another tool in the toolbox Remember the res-q-jack is another tool and does not have to be utilized at every incident requiring stabilization. Be familiar with other techniques and tools.

    5. Specifications Res-q-jack RJ3 strut Travel: 12 “ Failure load: 14,000lbs. Static load: 7,000lbs. Dynamic load ( lifting ) 4,000lbs. Minimum lifting height of 17” Maximum height of 107” CRG head, easy to use locking pins 2 straps attached at base Easy to use locking pins

    6. Jack Unit does not replace cribbing. Sidewind type jack 24” long in retracted position Meant to be used in compression, not as a winch Jack capacity: 4,000lbs. Jack travel: 12 inches Remember to crib as you lift.

    7. Anchor Picket 4’ length 1” in diameter Tip is cut at a 45 degree angle Enlarged head for increased striking surface, and to prevent strap engagement. Great for stabilization on sloped or slippery surfaces.

    8. Base Stakes 20” long constructed from ľ” rolled steel Used to complement straps when base loads may exceed strapping capacity.

    9. J Hook / T hook 8” rated for 3,900lbs. Hooks to posts, axles, frame components T hooks are designed to fit most car frame slots.

    10. Chain 16’ grade 80 3/8” chain with grab hooks Approved for overhead lifting Working load limit is 7,100 lbs.

    11. Chain and hook assembly The J-hook is attached along with a grab hook. Attached to the other end is a cluster of hooks containing: a mini j-hook , and a t- hook. The chain is 4’ of 5/16 grade 43 chain. The extra hook allows for shortening of chain

    12. Light duty ratchet strap 14’ in length with s-hooks on both ends. Working load of 700 lbs.

    13. Cambuckle strap 2” x 14’ cambuckle strap with s-hooks at both ends. The strap webbing is 2” wide nylon. Working load of 700 lbs.

    14. Tri-pod Stand Used to join the 3 stands of the RJ3 stands.

    15. Applications Dash roll 2 point stabilization 3 point stabilization 4 point side resting stabilization lift Roof resting full chain method Roof resting passenger Stabilization on sloped or soft ground Roof resting stabilization 2 and 3 point roof removal Single point half lift Pole on car Tensioned and restrained chain in vehicle stabilization with no apparent purchase points T-bone override Inverted dash displacement Small aircraft Shoring

    16. Dash Roll

    17. 2 or 3 Point Stabilization

    18. 4 Point Resting Stabilization

    19. 4 Point Consider placement of struts If lifting will be required be sure jack struts are on opposite sides of each other.

    20. Roof Resting Full Chain

    21. Roof Resting Passenger 2 and 3 point roof removal

    22. Stabilization on Sloped or Soft Ground

    23. Single point half lift

    24. Single point half lift

    25. Pole on car

    26. Tensioned chain with no apparent purchase points

    27. T-Bone Override A vehicle completely out of contact with the ground requires a good deal of stabilization.

    28. T-Bone Override

    29. Air craft

    30. The End Move to res-q-jack video , practical skills , let’s get it on !
