  3. Regular –AR Conjugation • Conjugation formula: • (infinitive – ending) + new ending • -AR endings • -aba -ábamos • -abas -abais • -aba -aban • Example: descansar • yo descansaba nosotros descansábamos • tú descansabas vosotros descansabais • él descansaba ellos descansaban

  4. Regular –ER & –IR Conjugation • Conjugation formula: • (infinitive – ending) + new ending • -ER & -IR endings • -ía -íamos • -ías -íais • -ía -ían • Example: tener • yo tenía nosotros teníamos • tú tenías vosotros teníais • él tenía ellos tenían

  5. Stem-Changing & Reflexive Verbs • Since the imperfect conjugation is created from the infinitive, stem-changing verbs DO NOT change when conjugated • Reflexive verbs act accordingly when conjugated and use the same pronouns as in the present/preterite
