Knowledge Transfer Partnerships are a Government sponsored initiative enabling access to knowledge & technologyKTP encourages collaboration between universities and industryThey are a flexible programme of between 12 months to 3 years which address issues strategic to company development, e.g.- develop new/improved products- enhance business process- facilitate more effective management systems
KTPs are not sector specific • Suitable areas for programmes could include • Product design/development • Manufacturing Process • Technology Transfer • Marketing • Installation of systems – • Management, • Quality, • ICT • Environmental
The University of Warwick KTP Office • Warwick Currently has 8 Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and 3 under preparation • Acts as a Contact and Information Point for Companies, Academics and Graduates • Provides Support for Companies and Academics to Complete Application Forms • Assists with Recruitment of Associates
Aims of KTP • Transfer of Knowledge and Skills from University to Industry • Develop Graduates for Industrial Careers • Increase Industrial Relevance of Academic Research and Teaching • Encourage Investment by Industry into Innovation
