  1. DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF HOLE INDEXING ON DRILLING MACHINE Presented by Nikam Amit Mane Nilesh

  2. ABSTRACT Indexing is commonly used for gear manufacturing purpose. But we are implementing same concept of stationary tool (location of tool is constant) and moving job in Drilling operations when it comes to drilling along PCD’s

  3. PROJECT OBJECTIVE • Reduce lead time / over head charges • Minimize idealness of machine • Power prevention • Increase rate of production • Optimizing use of CNC and NC machines • Social motto

  4. MECHANISMS AVAILABLE FOR INDEXING • INDEXING PLATE • GENEVA MECHANISM • RATCHET GEAR MECHANISM • WORM AND WORM

  5. PRO-E MODEL

  6. Cost estimation • Material and machining cost - Rs. 3400 • Standard components - Rs. 1500 • TOTAL COST - Rs. 4900

  7. ADVANTAGES • Requires less power for its operation. • Multiple drilling operations can be done in single setting. • It is compact and easy to convey. • Unskilled labor can be employed. • High indexing accuracy. • Optimizing use of NC & CNC’s • They are maintenance free and designed for very long operational life.

  8. HIGHLIGHTS • Innovative • Easy to build, operate and maintain • Cost efficient • Practical implementation is easy • Social motto – Employment of unskilled labor. • Green engineering

  9. CONCLUSION After proper testing and obtaining the results it can be concluded that all the predefined objectives of our project achieved successfully.

  10. ACTUAL MODEL

  11. FUTURE WORK • Bed arrangement for to and fro motion • Self centered vice • Automation using stepper motor • capacitive pickup for higher accuracy
