Incentives/Policies for Efficiency • Federal Tax Incentives • Business Energy Investment Tax Credit (ITC) • 30% tax credit for solar and small wind • 10% for geothermal • Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System (MACRS) • 5 year depreciation schedule. • Bonus depreciation for 2008 and 2009 allowed 50% depreciation in 1st year. This program may be extended. • Energy Efficient Commercial Building Tax Deduction • Up to $1.80/sqft depending on technology and energy reduction.

Incentives/Policies for Efficiency • Utility Rebates/Incentives • OPPD - $50/ton up to $200 maximum per unit Utility rebate for Heat Pumps plus favorable rate structure. • MUD - $100 Utility rebate for 92% efficient gas furnaces. • See www.dsireusa.org for summary and additional information. • Consult a tax adviser as each situation is different.
