Drivers for language development • Since ArchiMate was released: • Anumber of inconsistencies have been resolved • Some concepts have been clarified (e.g., Business Function) • Some concepts have been added (e.g. Location) • ArchiMate was designed to be extensible, making it possible to adapt the language to different settings, architecture approaches etc. Proposed extensions: • Motivation • Implementation & Migration

Outlook • ArchiMate development continues to be focused on the interplay between practical relevance and academic rigor • The core is stable even though some discussions are still “open” (e.g., infrastructure function concept) • OpenGroup standardization brings (the core of) ArchiMate close to TOGAF • Extensions, also for other frameworks and methodologies, continue to be developed (e.g., Policies, Rules and Regulations) • ArchiMatetoolsupport is growing, open source options are available
