  3. What your soul will be born into depends on your ACTIONS (=Karma) in this life… Karma is the effect of your actions. Your actions have karmic consequences – it is the law of the universe for good karmic actions to produce good consequences, and bad actions, to produce bad consequences for you. There is no “judge” or God deciding what happens to you. It just happens. Good karma, pays off with a happier life in the future. Bad karma binds the soul (atman) to the cycle of rebirth, leading to misfortune in this life and poor conditions in the next. Paying off all your karma, by continuous good actions, can free you from rebirth. This is called Moksha. • Explain what karma is. • What sort of actions are “good karma” (check what the 4 Paths said you should do)? • What sort of actions do you think are “bad karma”? Think up some examples • Why should bad karma be avoided ? • ***how could an animal accumulate good karma, to get rebirth as a human ?

Explain to your partner how this game could be useful in teaching the effects of Karma.   5. 1. LADDERS: GOOD KARMA: Draw 6ladders going up, using your examples from your “paths to Moksha” (knowledge, devotion, good works, meditation). Write the name of the good karma at the bottom of the ladder. eg meditate, help others, read Holy Books etc 2. SNAKES – BAD KARMADraw 6 snakes of different sizes, with their tails going down. Label the head-square of the snake with an example of bad karma eg. . • Explain how this game could be useful in teaching the effects of Karma. **What sort of actions should have the - longest snakes - longest ladders? Explain why.
