Component 1 • Products • Document providing an overview of existing initiatives in the countries and at regional level • 2 study reports on existing data on forest cover, forest carbon stocks and their changes (including recommendation, detailed listings and consolidated statement data) • Intermediate and final results presented and discussed during working groups meetings

Approach to launch and implement studies • 5 studies to be performed by a contractor • On forest cover monitoring • On forest carbon stocks • On deforestation/degradation causes • On existing models • On French Guiana specific position • ToRs prepared by the project team • Submitted to SC • Restricted invitation to tender (list to be defined by SC) • Selection of the contractor by the project team • Request for non-objection by the SC
Working groups constitution • 3 working groups will be created • On forest cover monitoring • On forest carbon stocks • On deforestation/degradation causes • Lead by countries or technical/scientific partners • Facilitation by the project team • 15 to 20 members from all countries (to be nominated by countries) • Civil Society on WG 3 (deforestation/degradation)
Focal Points Terms of References Host Organisation Provides: Volunteer Primary Tasks: • Provide a functional office space (with internet, phone and printer access). • Regular supervision and keep International Volunteer in loop of day-to-day information and invite to attend relevant meetings. • Support the integration of the International Volunteer in national REDD+ networks and contexts outside of the host organization. • Suggest additional task and responsibilities that could help the country in the project achievment • Support and promote opportunities for respective host organization and host country/state to actively benefit from participation project. • Identify, gather and synthesize information about emerging and ongoing REDD+ initiatives in their host country/state, in line with the 3 principal activities • Facilitating technical exchange and collaboration between multiple stakeholders. • Support strengthening communication and coordination between project partners
