  1. REASONS WE NEED SPORTS IN SCHOOL’S EXTRA-CURRICULUM

  2. A child spends a lot of their time in their school. Almost 200 hours per month is spent by an Indian kid in school on average. Hence, it becomes a fundamental duty of the school to make the children healthy and fit along with providing them with their basic education. Schools in India have a curriculum that has physical education, but the students don’t seem to care about it much, neither do the teachers. So, today we are going to discuss the importance of sports in schools in India in the hope that maybe soon, after COVID-19 has subsided, we can have a team of students and staff who enjoy participating in sports as it is important for human health.

  3. WHY IS SPORTS IMPORTANT IN SCHOOLS ? The importance of sports for learning and development for children is a big factor behind its success. Providing an arena where children can enjoy organized sports can be beneficial in many ways.

  5. Stay fit and healthy This benefit of sports is the most common and known one. Everyone knows that indulging in sports and other physical activities will make anyone fit and healthy. Regular exercise can reduce the chances of various diseases like obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. It helps in strengthening our lungs and making blood flow all over the body. Exercising will also help to maintain balance and develop good posture.

  6. BETTER MENTAL HEALTH It is often advised by therapists to indulge in physical activities to feel free and happy. The reason behind this is when we move our body, we release certain hormones that make us feel happy and less depressed. So, it won’t be wrong to say that we can get out of our depression if we get out of our bed. Playing various sports will cheer us up naturally.

  7. TEAMWORK AND LEADERSHIP Almost all the sports require us to work in a team. Teamwork is an essential skill that is required in life many times. While playing together, we learn to rely on each other, trust each other more and encourage each other. This helps us to develop healthy and happy relationships in life. While teamwork is important, every team requires a leader who makes everyone work together peacefully. The captain or leader must take care of every member of his team. He must ensure that everyone feels comfortable so that they can work their best to win. The captain must make multiple decisions and must lead

  8. Discipline Sports help children learn to follow rules. As they have to communicate in a respectful way if there are disagreements. Through learning this type of communication, they can eventually develop leadership skills. This is an area of focus in our Goals for Girls programme. play fairly and

  9. Positive environment Also, one of the main ideas is to provide children and adolescents with a safe space for to go after school. Having this space can help keep them away from bad influences and out of trouble. They will have an arena where they can socialise, bond with other children with common interests, and make friends!

  10. Focus and Concentration Some children learn better through physical movement than in a classroom environment. Physical exercise throughout the week, either in or outside school, can also help with concentration for when they are in the classroom. Some kids have more energy than others, and physical exercise is a way to release it, outlining the importance of sports.

  11. Time Management These 70 minutes of your life, final 70 minutes of your game’ When you know the importance of the time, every task is a cake walk. If it comes to studies, we all know– Time management is the key to good grades.
