Why did we get an online system? • Competition • Survey of 91 of the UK Higher Education institutions in 2007, indicated that 64% intended to develop an online system and 15% already had an online system. • Recruitment team’s own survey in 2007 of 25 of the School’s main competitors concluded that out of the 43% that don’t have an online recruitment system at present, 86% are planning to introduce one.

  3. Benefits • Improved communication and service delivery to internal customers • Improved communication with candidates/applicants • Ability to recruit more from the global market • Modernisation of the School’s brand image • Reduction of the time to hire • Better management of information

  4. Testing Phase • Started at the end of Lent Term 2009 • User Committee • Changes sent to WCN for action

  5. Current Phase: Pilot Phase • Started in July 2009 • Total number of vacancies so far 28 (5 academic and 23 academic support) • 1447 applications received

  6. Feedback Issued • Survey issued for 17 vacancies • Survey went to candidates and recruiting managers. • Candidates feedback on the ‘application form’: 29%(413 candidates) said that the system was ‘excellent’ and 44% (641 candidates) said that the system was ‘good’.
