Preview • Common Goals • Program Summary • SoCalGas Compliance Plan Highlights • SDG&E Compliance Plan Highlights
Common Goals The methane inventory is based on the 2015 edition of the ARB greenhouse emission inventory.
Program Summary *Includes emission reductions achieved by GRC-funded annual surveys on pre-1986 Aldyl-A pipe
SoCalGas Compliance Plan Summary *GRC indicates recovery for this activity is being requested in SoCalGas’ 2019 General Rate Case Application. †Cost Benefits are based on gas savings resulting from reduced emissions, evaluated at WACOG forecasts published in the 2016 California Gas Report. ‡ SoCalGas anticipates substantial savings in operational and capital costs resulting from this policy change due to reduced labor needed for meter replacements and reduced capital needed for replacement meters, as further described in Best Practice 23.
SoCalGas Compliance Plan Summary Cont. • Other notable requests where emission reductions could not be quantified include: • BP 9 – reporting and data analysis tools • BP 13 – training module • BP 18 –above ground methane sensors • BP 20b – geographic tracking of leaks and data-centric modeling • BP 21 – repairing all minor and above ground leaks. • BP 26 – 3rd party damage IT project
SDG&E Compliance Plan Summary *GRC indicates recovery for this activity is being requested in SDG&E’s 2019 General Rate Case Application. †Cost Benefits are based on gas savings resulting from reduced emissions, evaluated at WACOG forecasts published in the 2016 California Gas Report
SDG&E Compliance Plan Summary Cont. • Other notable requests where emission reductions could not be quantified include: • BP 9 – reporting and data analysis tools • BP 18 –above ground methane sensors • BP 20b – geographic tracking of leaks • BP 21 – repairing all minor and above ground leaks. • BP 26 – 3rd party damage IT project
