What’s under the bonnet? ? Like a car, you can open it up and see what’s inside that makes it work Do you know what’s inside your computer?
So what’s really inside? Sound and graphics cards: enable your computer to play sounds and display graphics Storage drives: hard drive, solid state (no moving parts), optical storage (CD/DVD ROM) Motherboard: the foundation for all the other components Memory: ROM (read only) and RAM (which the computer can write to) CPU: microprocessor able to carry out calculations
Is that enough? …with a computer you can add different chips, cards, software or hardware to improve its performance. With a car, you can add parts to make it look better or go faster….
