Intro Pages (p 1-2): Background Information (5pts) Made-up name(search Google for names from that country), date of birth, and native country Description of the family (you need to be creative and make this up!) Explanation of the events or circumstances that made him or her immigrate
Pages 3-4: The Journey to the United States (15 pts) At least one written document, such as a letter from a family member in the United States or a journal entry from the immigrant’s personal journal about their travels. Add lots of details!!! At least two artifacts (items) the immigrant used on the journey to the United States such as a passport, a ticket for the trip to the United States, coins from the home country. Artifacts must have captions to explain.
Pages 3-4: The Journey to the United States (15 pts) At least two visuals, such as a simple sketch of a historical photograph, that show something that happened on the journey to the United States Each visual must have a caption.
Pages 5-6: New life in the United States (15pts) At least one written document, such as a letter the immigrant wrote to their family in their home country or an entry in a personal journal about how they are adjusting. Add lots of details!!! At least two artifacts (items) the immigrant used when they got to the United States such as a pay check or a page from an English dictionary. Each artifact must have a caption to explain what it is and how it was used.
