  4. Remove Driver from Needle Set Stabilize Needle Set while disconnecting Driver T430 RevA

  5. Remove Needle Set Safety Cap Stabilize hub and rotate safety cap to remove T430 RevA

  6. Stabilize Extremity Guard against unexpected patient movement T430 RevA

  7. Insert Needle Set at a 90o angle to the bone – insert through the skin until you touch bone It’s a matter of RPM not pressure – EZ does IT! T430 RevA

  8. Note that the 5 mm mark is NOT visible above the skin Size matters! Note that the 5 mm mark is NOT visible above the skin Consider adipose or muscle tissue thickness PRIOR to bone insertion T430 RevA

  9. DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE Simply RELEASE the triggerwhen you feel the “POP” or “GIVE” to avoid possible recoil on 3-39 Kg patients Recoil may lead to Needle Set dislodgement and extravasation T430 RevA

  10. Stabilize Needle Set and rotate the stylet counter-clockwise Remove stylet and dispose of in approved bio-hazard sharps container A stabilizer is available if needed T430 RevA

  12. 2 % (preservative free) Lidocaine - given intraosseously (IO) - has been shown to offer effective local anesthesia in most alert patients Adult dosage 20– 100mgIO Pediatric dosage 0.5 mg/kg IO Prime the EZ-Connect® extension set with Lidocaine Infuse Lidocaine slowly (over 30 - 60 seconds) Allow 1 minute for anesthetic effect Repeat as needed for pain management Only infuse fluids as fast as patient can tolerate The Right Amount of Lidocaine DO NOT exceed 3 mg/kg/24 hours T430 RevA

  13. Infuse fluids with pressure Regulate fluid delivery for ALL patients and take patient condition into account with amounts delivered T430 RevA

  14. EZ-IO Removal Maintain axial alignment Continuously rotate syringe clockwise Back catheter out of patient while stabilizing the extremity T430 RevA
