E N D
God is always faithful. • “Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations” (Deut 7:9). • “Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant” (1 Ki 8:56). • “Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds” (Ps 36:5).
God is always faithful. • “It is of the Lord‘s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness” (Lam 3:22-23). • “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Cor1:9). • “That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us” (Heb 6:18). • “Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator”(1 Peter 4:19).
What Does God’s Faithfulness Say About God?
God’s faithfulness says that God will keep His promises. • God has promised to comfort the afflicted (Rev 21:4). • God has promised to exalt the humble (Lk 14:11). • God has promised to reward those who care for the neglected (Lk 14:14). • God has promised to refresh the penitent (Acts 3:19). • God has promised to answer prayer (Jn 14:14). • God has promised to help those who are tempted (1 Cor 10:13).
Because God keeps His promises, we can put are trust in Him. • “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me” (Ps 56:3-4). • 2 Cor 1:9-10.
Because God is faithful, Scripture—His revealed Word—is absolutely trustworthy. • “For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven” (Ps 119:89). • “The scripture cannot be broken” (Jn 10:35). • “All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you” (1 Pet 1:24-25).
What Does God’s Faithfulness Say About Me?
I ought to be faithful to be fellow man. • “They reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully” (2 Ki 12:15). • “Let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil” (Matt 5:37). • Part of being faithful means that I always tell the truth. • “A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish” (Prov 19:9). • “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another” (Eph 4:25).
I also need to be faithful to God. • “I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many” (Neh 7:2). • “My beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Cor15:58).
