Employment Training Panel (ETP)Supporting High Wage and High Skill Jobs • ETP is a joint business-labor program funding industry-driven training • Focused on assisting Manufacturers • Since inception in 1983 – ETP has: *Awarded over 1.1 Billion for Training *Trained more than 725,000 workers in CA *Served more than 65,000 CA businesses • ETP serves as a key Economic Development Resource

Program Overview • Funding format - Single Employer Contracts and Multiple Employer Contracts • Funding for incumbent and unemployed workers • Curriculum and trainer selection flexibility • Multiple training delivery modes supported • Fixed-Fee reimbursement based on number of training hours delivered

  5. ETP commitment to Manufacturing • ETP has invested over $1 Billion overall since 1983 • Approved $594,295,483 in Manufacturing since 7/1/2000 • Funded training for 524,172 Manufacturing trainees • On-going partnerships dedicated to attracting and supporting existing Green Manufacturers

  6. Direct Employer Contract Profiles • Support Governor’s Economic Development Goals • Multiple Electric Vehicle Manufacturers other green sector companies (expansion & start-up) • Emerging industries and more traditional (support new processes, new investment, skill upgrades)

Manufacturing Case StudyMEC Contractor • National Tooling & Machining Assoc. – Long-term ETP Partner • Project targeting small – medium sized machining companies • Curriculum developed through industry advisory group • Incumbent worker skill upgrading • Unemployed worker component close connection in recruitment with local One-Stop Career Centers

Critical Proposals (Govs ED Office), Job Creation, MECs, Small Business. • Restart application process for potential contractors new fiscal year. Return to incumbent retraining. • On-going development for Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Transportation program
