By me!!! Rock Music through the years…
50’s-60’s-70’s Classic rock ‘n roll was down in the 50’s- 60’s! Music was all inspired from previous years, however in the 50’s the youth of America were listening to rock ‘n roll super star Elvis Presley who was starting to right history. In Britain, the youth were still listening to war songs because of their parents. Skittle music had been quite popular in Britain due to the fact it was easy to make and inspired a young John Lennon to create his own skittle band ‘The Quarrymen’ which later transformed into a rock ’n roll band called ‘The Sliver Beatles’ after John discovered Elvis. The band later became ‘ The Beatles’ and became legends in there own right. “Before Elvis there was nothing.” – John Lennon
80’s-90’s In the 80’s-90’s classic rock bands and heavy metal band became extremely popular. Bands such as Green Day, Nirvana, Guns ‘n Roses and Iron Maiden were top of the charts. They offered a rebellious beat and aggressive lyrics that the world had never seen before and the youth loved it as it told them they had power and everyone love to hear that. All great rock bands have alittle dirt on their faces- Billie Joe Armstrong
Now Teen rock pop-rock and mod rock has been popular since this century began. Bands such as Blink 182, Panic! At the Disco, All Time Low, Fall Out Boy and Recently 5 Seconds Of Summer all have been topping charts something rock music hasn’t done for a while. They use a lot less heavy sounds compared to the 80’s-90’s and some are more smoother/pop as it needs to stay relevant. As time moves on so does music.
