  2. Why change the process? • Inflated requests • Difficult to add or change events throughout the year • We allocated $155,000 to orgs last year • $73,000 came back to SA from orgs last year

New “Allocations” Q&A • Is it true that organizations can’t be funded for meetings anymore? • No- there are several ways to apply for meeting funding under the new process. • Is it true that organizations can no longer use SA funds for philanthropy dinners? • No- that change was discussed, but not implemented. Philanthropy dinners are still fundable. • Is it true organizations have to pay out of pocket for expenses? • No-funding is available throughout the year.

  4. Same • Charter update • Now on TUOrgSpace! • Grad and law orgs (more than 50% grad/law students) go to GSA and SBA, respectively • Mandatory info sessions* • They are now at the beginning of each semester, but only required once per year • Appeals process • What can be funded

  5. Preliminary Allocations • Similar to “old” allocations • Once annually (beginning of year) • Subject to funding limits (now in FAC guidelines) • Can fund up to 7 events • No interview with FAC or Senate • $500 limit • There are more funding opportunities, though!

  6. What about advances? • $250 advance available • Deducted from Preliminary Allocation • Listed as OAAA Template and OAAA Questionnaire on the SA website • Info session requirement temporarily waived (but you need to go to the next available session) • Deadline for applications is September 10.

  7. Event Sponsorship • Apply for events on an event-by-event basis • Must submit by the date of the event, but no more than 8 weeks before the event date • *exceptions granted at FAC’s discretion • Two different levels of Event Sponsorship

  8. Level 1 • Up to $5,000 annually for 3 events • May be used for one massive event • May be used for 3 events • Still apply on an event-by-event basis

  9. Level 2 • Up to $3,000 annually for 6 events • Still apply on an event-by-event basis

  10. Funding Levels • Food: $7/unique person • Advertising: $30/event • Entertainment: $1,000/event • Decorations & Dinnerware: $75/event • Security: $200/event • Miscellaneous: $500/event

  11. Conference Travel • Same as past years • Up to $1000 total per organization • For one or multiple conferences • Fill out Conference Travel Template • Download available on SA Website • Contact a senator to sponsor your bill

  12. New Org Funding • Same as past years • Available for just-chartered orgs • Up to $500 • Takes the place of Preliminary Allocations • New orgs can still apply for Event Sponsorship and Conference Travel
