ELA: • Small group instruction across the grade (similar to this year) • 5 days a week • Includes reading and writing • 6 Traits + 1 Writing: Ideas, Voice, Organization, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, Conventions + Presentation • Work on spelling, grammar and vocabulary
Math: • Small group instruction across the grade (similar to this year) • 5 days a week • Extending concepts from this year • More Problem Solving
Science: • Ms. Trethewey teaches the grade • Concepts include: • What it means to be a scientist? • Earth Science – plate tectonics, volcanoes (chemical reactions), evolution
Social Studies: • Ms. Sapperstein teaches the grade • Concepts include: • Geography – 50 states, capitals, terrain mapping • Ancient Egypt, Ancient China, the Romansand the Greeks
Study Skillsand Health: • Ms. Leff teaches the grade • Collaborates with other subjects • Concepts taught: • Organization, Note taking, Research • Having a healthy body and making good choices
