About Copernicus • Developed since 1999, Index Copernicus is a Web-based Research Infrastructure, developed since 1999, which provides essential tools for scientists, research administrators and government agencies. • Index Copernicus is an excellent platform for scientists’ networking and execution of joint research projects. This web-based scientists’ collaboration platform, called Virtual Research Groups (VRG), its aim is to enhance research productivity. VRG provides a complete research environment, which offers a set of essential tools to promote and initiate international, multi-location research.

  3. Index Copernicus Evaluation Methodology 2012 Stage 1. Detailed Parametrical analysis The following groups of parameters are evaluated: • Scientific quality: 580 base points (58.0%) • Editorial quality: 200 base points (20.0%) • International availability: 135 base points (13.5%) • Frequency-Regularity-Stability: 50 base points (5.0%) • Technical quality: 35 base points (3.5%) • Total: 1000 base points (100,0%)

  4. Stage 2. Negative score analysis Negative score is given for: irregular or late issuance [late by up to one publishing period (-30), joint issues (-50), late more than one publishing period (-60)] Unethical advertisement placement [within article (-60), directly before/after article (-40).

  5. Stage 3. Expert peer-review Frequency-Regularity-Stability: 50 base points (5.0%) a) Scientific significance of the published material [±20] b) Up-to-date content [±20] c) Educational value [±20]

  6. First step to indexation is journal registration on http://journals.indexcopernicus.com/application.php. Registration involves completing the electronic form. After a successful registration you will receive confirmation along with the steps to follow to complete the conditions of evaluation.

  7. Time of journal evaluation varies depending on many factors: • The date of journal registration • The date of printed or electronic copies delivery • The frequency of publications
