Who is Safe America • Safe America Foundation: • 501(c)(3) non-profit licensed by the state of Georgia • Working with DHS and FEMA for seven years on a variety of preparedness programs • Objective: • To extend preparedness beyond first responders and utilize existing resources in creating local practice drills in each of FEMA's 10 Regions • To ensure businesses and families are prepared for disasters with and without warning • How: • The Foundation partners with corporate, governmental, public and private sector organizations, and other nonprofits to improve the safety awareness and preparedness of Americans nationwide. • Combines collective knowledge and skills to address emerging health and safety issues to promote a Safer America
“9/11 Drill Down for Safety” • While millions will pause and reflect on the events of 9/11, the Safe America Foundation is inviting all individuals and businesses to join in helping America to prepare to handle emergencies by practicing a ‘drill’ at home or work.
“9/11 Drill Down for Safety” 4 Program Elements: 1: Public Information Campaign on the importance of practicing emergency plans with cooperation of national media, private sector experts, corporations, and existing government agencies. 2: National ‘Pledge to Drill’Campaign stimulating grassroots participation and as part of the nation’s Day of Service and Remembrance (call for businesses, individuals, and families to participate).
“9/11 Drill Down for Safety” 4 Program Elements: 3: Test Drills organized through businesses and local governments to provide a cross section of drills covering the areas of transportation, health care, communications, law enforcement, manufacturing and local governments. 4: Online Trainingfor small and medium size businesses with topics that include: • Why and How to Plan for an Emergency • Creating Business and Community Drills • Personal Emergency Planning and Preparation • Critical Messages: How to Communicate • Creating Business Continuity Planning: Process and Program • Others…
