  4. Organisation Zermatt 2009‘s Organiser: The Cantonal Rescue Organisation of Valais (CROV)

  5. Role What does the CROV do? The CROV ensures the coordination, supervision, training and funding of the people and institutions active in the rescue field within the canton of Valais.

  6. Goals What are its goals ? • Improve the quality and swiftness when rescuing injured and sick people, as well as those in peril. • Manage the call centre and the emergency health services to ensure seamless actions. A few figures : 90,000 calls per year 13,500 interventions per year

  7. 9 ambulance companies with 25 vehicles and 120 employees 2 helicopter companies with 85 employees, and 5 to 7 helicopters according to the season, ready for intervention 4 casualty and intensive care departmentsSMUR (37 emergency doctors) 59 local emergency doctors (SMUP) 1 association of emergency psychologists(10 psychologists and 15 assistants specialised in psycho-social support) 13 rescue regions linked to 47 rescue stations (840 rescuers) Partners Partners of the CROV
