  2. Clark’s Slave Clark brought a long his lifelong slave York. He was a big help to the expedition.

  3. Summer 1803 The Summer 1803 with Lewis’s newfound dog Seaman. He had Purchased him for $20.00 dollars.

  4. May 14, 1804 On May 14, 1804 the expedition sets off from camp Dubois. The crew works though the pain.

  5. July 4, 1804 On July 4, 1804 the crew comes across the first creek of the west. The crew names it Independence Creek.

  6. Aug. 20, 1804 On Aug.20, 1804 the first member of the expedition Sgt. Floyd dies. He was the first member of the crew to die.

  7. Sept. 25, 1804 On Sept. 25, 1804 a fight almost breaks out with the Tenton Sioux. The Tenton Sioux took some guns but the crew got them back.

  8. Nov. 4, 1804 On Nov. 4, 1804 Sacagawea joins the expedition with her husband. Sacagawea was very helpful to the expedition.

  9. Apr.29, 1805 On Apr. 29, 1805 the crew heads toward present – day Montana. It was a very exciting day.

  10. Feb. 11, 1805 On Feb. 11, 1805 Jean Pierre Baptiste was born to Sacagawea. This was a exiting day.

  11. May 20, 1805 On May 20, 1805 a river was named after Sacagawea. Also known as Bird woman.

  12. May 31, 1805 May 31, 1805 the Corp enters what is now the White cliffs of Missouri.

  13. June 13, 1805 On June 13, 1805 the Corp comes across the Great Falls of Missouri. That day was a big step for the expedition.

  14. Late July 1805 Late July 1805 the expedition reaches the three forks of the Missouri river.

  15. August 11, 1805 On August 11, 1805 Lewis comes across the first Indian seen sense leaving Fort Mandan. That day was a lifesaving event.

  16. September 11, 1805 On September 11, 1805 the Corps of discovery ascends into the bitterroot mountains. There in the cold they almost starve.

  17. August 18, 1805 On August 18, 1805 it was Lewis’s 31st birthday. It was also the day the first American citizen to reach the continental divide.

  18. July 3, 1806 On July 3, 1806 after recrossing the bitterroots, the expedition splits into smaller units, in order to explore more of the Louisiana territory.

  19. July 26\27 1806 On July 26\27 1806 heading back to the Missouri river Lewis saw eight Blackfeet warriors.

  20. August 12, 1806 On August 12, 1806 down stream from the mouth of the Yellowstone river, the expedition is reunited.

  21. September 23, 1806 On September 23, 1806 is their last day as the Corps of Discovery. This was a very special day.

  22. December 20, 1812 On December 20,1812 Sacagawea dies at Fort Manuel which is now South Dakota.
