ESW introduces the A Revolutionary Noise, Vibration & Resonance Process Control System
Production Line Testing of Motors & Finished Goods The NaVigatoRmakes accept/ reject decisions on the production line. These decisions are based on the limits that you set for your parts. The NaVigatoR reduces factory labor, manufacturing waste, and above all, improves product quality. The NaVigatoR provides production control over your processes.
100% Noise, Resonance and Vibration testing on your production line. Our exclusive ambient cancellation testing technique identifies the ambient noise, resonance and vibration levels on the factory floor and separates them from those created by the part under test. Ambient sampling and cancellation is done on every motor tested.
Reading the FFT The gray shaded area is the test envelope. Envelopes are created using waveforms from good and rejected parts. The pass/fail determination is based on the number of data points that fall outside the maximum points allowed for this part. For this demonstration 40 data points were allowed. Failure of a part will occur if this number is exceeded. The system analyzes the noise, resonance and vibrations generated by a part (shown in green) and then compares it to this test envelope.
For the next few minutes you will be viewing the waveforms of a good and a rejected part, while listening to the actual motor running. Please be sure your speakers are on. Demonstration
The Gray shaded area is the test envelope The green waveform indicates the motor NOISE generated 2 data points are outside the test envelope
The Gray shaded area is the test envelope The green waveform indicates the motor RESONANCE generated 8 data points are outside the test envelope
The Gray shaded area is the test envelope The green waveform indicates the motor VIBRATION generated 3 data points are outside test the envelope
The Gray shaded area is the test envelope The green waveform indicates the motor NOISE generated 114 data points are outside the test envelope
The Gray shaded area is the test envelope The green waveform indicates the motor RESONANCE generated 171 data points are outside the test envelope
The Gray shaded area is the test envelope The green waveform indicates the motor VIBRATION generated 140 data points are outside test the envelope
Parts are often tested in an environment where the ambient dB noise is equal to or louder than the dB created by the part-under-test. This makes the operator’s job of picking out defective motors nearly impossible.
The NaVigatoRis able to clearly see the differences between the two motors.
Detecting Noise & Vibration faults the old fashion way is harder than itsounds. • Opinions vary shift to shift as well as person to person. • All Operators have their own opinions of a good versus bad parts. • Factory noise levels from 60-85dB. • No data is available on defects and or returns. • Process and Statistical control is not available. • Many operators have several tasks in addition to listening to the parts.
Why Should you Choose ESW Noise & Vibration Testing? • TheNaVigatoRis designed for use on the factory floor. • Allows you to apply lab techniques to your production process. • Provides you with accurate and repeatable testing. • Increases final motor output quality. • Effective management and process control tool. • Reduces Manufacturing Costs. • Saves you money.
ESW is the only company involved in advanced Noise, Resonance and Vibration testing. We design, build, set-up, train, service and automate the entire process from beginning to end. We would like to demonstrate our capabilities to you by offering a free evaluation of your parts. Contact ESW for more information on having your parts evaluated or for an in-plant demonstration.
