Vocabulary • defiance (ch 5) – an open disregard for authority • ration(ch 5) – A fixed amount of a supply given to each person during a time of shortage, as in wartime: "the bread ration". • ghetto-(ch 5) – A part of a city occupied by a minority group or groups. Usually a slum. During WWII, Jewish quarter of the city was the ghetto.
