  2. Disconcerting is defined commonly as causing an emotional disturbance. Disconcerting is typically used when someone would despise someone else in their neighborhood that just lost there dog, they would be disconcerted by the fact that they lost there dog, and not help them look for him. Another word that could be used as Disconcerting could be bewilder, confound, disarrange. After Jerry and Lisa broke up, Jerry’s best friend Tom decided to immediately go find him a new friend because he saw how Lisa was so disconcerted by their breakup that she was already with another man. This word could be used once you don’t really appreciate the person you fought in high school, and meets you at the café talking about her relationship problems with your crush. Disconcerting
