  2. Duties • Sketch design ideas • Keep up with current trends, and be aware of future trends, or try to establish a trend of their own • Work with textiles and fabric to produce their garment • Fit garment to models and make changes to ensure it is runway/catalogue ready

  3. Education • Some colleges offer fashion majors (i.e. Palomar) • There are also trade schools that offer majors in fashion design (i.e. FIDM)

  4. Abilities • Sketching • Sewing • Tend forecasting/ setting • Creating collections

  5. Personal Qualities Designers are most likely: • Highly ambitious • Self-motivated • Driven • Passionate about their work • Detail Oriented • Highly creative

  6. Salary Salaries for designers can vary A designer can make about 30K to millions depending on how popular their brand is

  7. Locations • Designers can work anywhere • Some might want to work for a local boutique in their town • Others who want international recognition might work in one of the Fashion capitals of the world

  8. Availability • Though the economy is struggling, the fashion industry is still able to thrive • There are positions available for designers in companies large and small, especially in cities where the fashion industry is prominent
