God Saw
Introduction (Ps. 33:8-22) Since God sees everything, we need to realize that none of our thoughts, words, and deeds escape His notice (Ps. 139:1-7). In this mornings lesson, we will consider things that God saw that is revealed in Scripture that should motivate us to repentance and obedience so that we can truly praise, honor, and serve Him.
God Saw that His Creation was Very Good God’s power and wisdom is seen by man which should provoke awe (Ps. 8:3-9; Isa. 40:26). God provides for all of man’s needs on earth. (Gen. 8:22; Matt. 5:45; Acts 14:15-17) God wants all people to seek after Him and find Him (Acts 17:27-28). God has provided an eternal habitation for the righteous (2 Peter 3:13).
God Saw Man’s Wickedness on the Earth Their thoughts were only evil and they corrupted the earth with violence (Gen. 6:5, 12). Sodom & Gomorrah’s wickedness (Ge. 18:20-21) The sins of the Gentiles (Romans 1:24ff) God did not overlook sin but punished it which is a warning for us to repent of our sins. (2 Peter 3:1-10; Jude 1:7; Acts 17:30-31)
God Saw those Who Turned from Evil Faith prompted all people of Nineveh to repent and turn away from their sins (Jonah 3:5ff). God’s grace, mercy, and longsuffering through Jesus Christ was realized by Paul so that he would turn away from his sins (1 Tim. 1:12ff). What is God seeing in your life? Does He see excuses, delay, or obedience. (Luke 14:18ff; Acts 24:25; 3:22f; John 14:15)
Conclusion God saw that His creation was very good, saw man’s wickedness, but also saw when man turned from evil. God wants you to be a new creation by quitting your wicked ways and being baptized into Christ (2 Cor. 5:17; Rom. 6:3ff; 12:2). God sees all and will punish or reward you according to your deeds (2 Cor. 5:10).
