SMP Cadets serve in both a University ROTC program and the Army Reserves
Qualifications • PARTICIPATING Soldier in the Army Reserve • Attend one weekend a month and two weeks in summer • Complete Basic Training and AIT(Standard or Alt) • Accepted into a University offering ROTC • Academically align themselves and incorporate Military Science classes • Non Scholarship Cadet • Eligible to contract with ROTC: • Meet Height/Weight Standards • Pass Physical Fitness Test • MEPS physical with 2 years or pass DODMERB • Enrolled in 4 year University and Military Science Classes

Life as an Army Reserve Soldier • Drill with Unit One Weekend a month • Sat/Sun • Two 4 day Drills-Qualification/Record PT test • Paid as an E-5 once contracted with ROTC • Three Week Annual Training • Units Yearly Exercise • Non deployable once contracted with ROTC
Graduation and Commission • Upon Graduation from the College the student will be Commissioned as a 2LT in the Army Reserve or Active Army if they choose. • Army Reserve: • Continue with One Weekend a Month and Two weeks in Summer • Earn $366.08 for each Weekend Training • Earn $ 1372.80 for Annual Training • Healthcare and Life Insurance available • Active Army: • $2745.60 per month for base pay • Housing allowance based on location • Full Benefits package to include medical, dental, life insurance and 30 days of vacation each year • Opportunities to travel
