  5. Work year - 180 days Sick leave - 10 days unused sick days can accumulate without limit. Personal Leave - 2 days Sabbatical leave after 6 years - paid at 50% or minimum salary Professional activities stipend 150 dollars. Full cost of premiums for medical insurance paid by the school district. 50% of families premiums paid by the school district. Full cost of dental insurance premiums. Teachers are over worked and spend countless hours grading papers compared to other professionals?* • But don't teachers spend a great deal of time grading papers and creating lesson plans while away from school? Some do - but the comparisons here are still fair - because other professionals do work away from the office, too. Engineers and computer scientists are certainly no strangers to long nights working at home.

Teachers are over worked and spend countless hours grading papers compared to other professionals? • Winthrop Harbor elementary teachers must be at their teaching or assignment stations 20 minutes before and 40 minutes after the school day. Elementary teachers shall be granted 125 minutes of planning time exclusive of the before and after school.* In other words teachers have a little over 3 hours each workweek to grade papers, plan and correspond as needed with parents. *Winthrop Harbor teachers contract

Elementary teachers shall be granted 200 minutes of planning time exclusive of the before and after school.* In other words teachers have a little over 4.5 hours each workweek to grade papers, plan and correspond as needed with parents. *Winthrop Harbor teachers contract.
