Basic Items for Web Publications • Author • Title of the work • Title of the overall web site (italicized) • Publisher or sponsor of the site (N.p. if not available) • Date of publication (day, month, and year; n.d. if not available) • Medium of publication (Web) • Date of access (day, month, and year)

c) A Work on the Web Cited withPublication Data for Another Medium besides Print • Ex. Currin, John. Blond Angel. 2001. Indiana Museum of Art. IMA: It’s My Art. Web. 9 May 2007. Note: It is a painting. But it’s not quite possible that you viewed the original work. Instead, you used the digital version on line. Therefore, you need to indicate the on-line source.It is the same if you use a film for your source.

Note: It’s almost the same as using an article in a scholarly journal in print form, except for the items of “web” and date of access. Therefore, if there is no pagination, you need to indicate it.

D) Citing Additional Common Sources: A Film Ex. (1) It’s a Wonderful Life. Dir. Frank Capra. Perf. James Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, and Thomas Mitchell. RKO, 1946. Film. Note: Arrange the entry by the title (should be italicized) if you generally refer to the film (since unlike a literary work, there are so many contributors in a film production). In such case, director and distributer are essential. You may or may not include performers. Be alert to the format of the yellow part.
D) Citing Additional Common Sources: A Film Ex. (2) Chaplin, Charles, dir. Modern Times. Perf. Chaplin and Paulette Goddard. United Artists, 1936. Film. Note: If you focus specifically on the part of the director, arrange by the director’s name. If on the part of adapter, arrange by the adapter’s name, and so on, and so forth.

Reminders Please pay more attention to capitalization of title. Remember to italicize the title of a book even when it appears in the quotation mark. Remember to use UP for university press. Do not write c before year of publication.
