  2. Agenda • An overview of classroom activities and resources will be provided. • Activities include: Data Folders Reciprocal Teaching Success Maker 4 • Students Readers Theatre • Drawing for Prizes • 2- $25 • 2- $15 • 2- $10

  3. Let’s Make a FOLDABLE to Organize our Learning

  4. Data Folders • The purpose of data folders is for students to monitor and track THEIR learning. • The students complete their own data chart.

  5. Data Folders • Students are currently completing data folders for: Fluency Behavior SuccessMaker Accelerated Reader OAA Testing SMART Goals Quarterly Grades Edusoft Testing

  7. Data Folders • Self-reflection is key to data folders. Students self-reflect on how they are currently doing and what they need to do to improve.

  8. Ohio Achievement Assessment (OAA) • Advanced 451 & higher • Accelerated 432 - 450 • Proficient 400 - 432 • Basic 399 - 379 • Limited 379 & lower

  9. Edusoft Assessments • Edusoft is a TPS assessment administered 4 times a year. • The data collected from this test is used by the teacher to help guide instruction.

  10. SuccessMaker • This is a computer program that students complete 4 days a week. • The students complete Reading & Math activities

  11. SuccessMaker What is SuccessMaker? • Individualized program for math and reading • K-8 students • Instructional software • Game-like format • Interactive

  12. SuccessMaker • Kindergarten 0.8 • Grade 1 1.8 • Grade 2 2.8 • Grade 3 4.1 • Grade 4 5.2 • Grade 5 6.7 • Grade 6 7.2 • Grade 7 8.0 • Grade 8 8.8 Students should be performing with 65% accuracy or higher for the level to be accurate. Math Target

  17. Accelerated Reader • Personalized reading practice at each student’s current ability level. • Assess students’ reading comprehension of a SELF-CHOOSEN novel. • RPLACE

  18. Fluency • Rereading enhances students reading skills • Each passage is reread at least 3 times • Goal= Each time the student rereads a passage, the CWPM increases.

  19. Behavior • Students graph the amount of violations they receive each quarter. • By having the students graph their own behavior data, the students self-reflect and make plans to improve their behavior.

  20. Attendance • The students graph their daily attendance and the number of times they are late to school.

  23. Quarter Grades Students graph their quarterly grades. Students reflect on what they did welland what needs to be improved.

  24. Reciprocal Teaching

  25. Reciprocal Teaching • Reciprocal Teaching is a combination of 4 reading strategies. Predict Summarize Question Clarify

  26. Reciprocal Teaching • The goal of Reciprocal Teaching is to help students become independent proficient readers. • Research has shown that students comprehension greatly increases when Reciprocal Teaching is implemented.

  27. Open to the last section in your FOLDABLE: Lets self-reflect! What do you think of when you hear the words Data Folders? Try to think of 4 words that represent your new understanding of data folders and write them in the last section of your foldable.
