ABSTRACT COMPARISON OF EGCG VALUE IN SOME GREEN TEA PRODUCTS AT EAST SURABAYA Many research proved that green tea contained active anti oxidant and anti carcinogenic components called EGCG with strong anti oxidant activity. There is various of green tea product in East Surabaya but we didn’t know whether those products contain EGCC or not. First of all, we had been do extracted to got EGCC from green tea. The maceration extraction method was use for green tea extraction. The solvents use in extraction process are chloroform, methanol 95% and ethyl acetate because it’s able to draw or isolate EGCC. We used Thin Layer Cromatography (TLC) Densitometry method for quantitative analysis of EGCG and make validation of it. Chloroform, acetic acid formic acid, isopropanol (8:1:1:4) is used as eluent. Next we will perform validation on concentration acquired. In this research, we found that EGCG concentration in X, Y and Z products are 0,03%, 0,005% and 0,004% respectively. The highest level of EGCG found in Y product. These finding suggest that green tea products from East Surabaya has a good properties especially in EGCG contain.
