Trip overview When and where We are planning a 4 days/3 nights trip to Andernach, Germany by executive coach 16/07/2012 – 19/07/2012. This is a photo of one of our day trips to Cochem. Aim of the tour The aim is for the students to experience German culture, practise some of the language skills acquired in school and complete tasks which support their year 9 studies. www.halsburytravel.com
Educational visits and attractions A full programme of activities is being planned. Precise details of visits will be provided at a later date. Previous trips have included visits to Cologne Cathedral, the Schokoladenmuseum, Phantasialand theme park, Cochem Castle, “ Kaffee und Kuchen” café visit and a cruise down the river Moselle.
Accommodation We will be staying at the Hotel zum Anker in Andernach. Rooms are en-suite and the hotel has views of the river Rhine. Below is a photo of an earlier trip to a hotel in Alken. www.halsburytravel.com

What happens next? Deposit payment If you wish to join this tour, please request a letter from Mrs. Akers and return the signed slip with the initial deposit payment of £50 to secure your place. Cheques should be made payable to Penwortham Girls’ High School and handed in in a sealed envelope with your name and form on the outside. Balance payment The balance of the tour will be paid in two instalments: £100 by 11th Nov 2011 £ 200 by 20th April 2012 We will produce an action-packed programme of activities, details to follow later Please ensure your passport and visa meets all requirements! Travel tips – European health insurance card All Halsbury tours are covered by travel insurance, But we recommend that all student also bring a European Health Insurance Card with them. The EHIC is the certificate that entitles you to treatment that becomes necessary during your visit to the EEA or Switzerland. We recommend that you obtain a European Health Insurance Card (new name for the old E111) before travelling. If a students needs medical treatment while abroad, they will be treated for free rather than having to pay and claim the money back afterwards.
