Communication process • 3 step process: • 1st-communicate with HEAD COACH • 2nd- A) request to meet/talk with athletic coordinator + head coach *Forms available online B) appeal to the District AD • 3rd-request to meet/talk with the Principal
Academic Eligibility • Read the academic eligibility in the mustard information bulletin~must be “making progress towards graduation”
Middle School Participation • If no program exists in the middle school, 7-8th graders can compete on the high school teams. • If a program does exist, 7-8th graders can compete on the varsity(if they make the varsity team)
Transfer rule**New from the MSHSL • Students in 9-12 grade, who disenrolls from one high school and enrolls in another high school shall be ineligible to compete in any varsity sport for 1 calendar year
Physical forms • Doctor must use the High School League Form • Physical must be updated every 3 years • Must be on file at Jefferson…athletic secretary.
Summer Waiver • Coaches may coach the high school players from the 4th Friday in May through July 31st.
NCAA ELIGIBILITY • 16 core class requirement for NCAA eligibility class of 2008 • Please see your counselor for more information AND the back page of the athlete information packet.
Chemical + Harassment + Hazing • Committing an act, or coercing a student into committing an act, that creates a risk of harm to a person (physical, mental, intimidating) Intended or unintended. • Harassment, hazing, chemical, drug abuse all carry the same violation penalties. • “Possession” interpretation…ex. Same room with alcohol-in possession of it
When a violation occurs: • 1st offense: 2 weeks, 2 contest (longest) • 2nd offense: 3 weeks, 6 games • 3rd offense: 4 weeks, 12 games • Student Code of Responsibilities bylaw206.2 (penalty determined by High School Principal) • Loss of Captainship for 1 calendar year • Loss of leadership roles in school • Contact AC’s as soon as the violation occurs • You must practice and finish the season for the violation to be considered “served”.

BUDGET INFORMATION • TICKET PRICES: $5 student $7 adult • Max $ per school year: $325-student $605-family
Liability Insurance • Family’s must assume responsibility for potential expenses of under $50,000.
Transportation • Varsity and JV: no busing to Bloomington contests (Except football team) • 10-9 teams will bus TO contests in Bloomington, but NO RETURNING bus…parents must pick up athletes. • Off site practice is the responsibility of the athlete only
Booster Club Roles • Invitation to join • Description of activities (fundraisers, banquet set up, pasta dinners etc.) • Positive support to the team, coaches, school • $15 registration fee per school year…building reservations. • Bulletin for booster club roles/each booster club should have one.
