  2. It’s History On January 26th, 1887, construction began on the Eiffel Tower. There were numerous construction problems but the Tower was finally complete on March 31st, 1889. In the early 1900’s elevators allowed visitors to travel from floor to floor. The Eiffel Tower is also known as the “Iron Lady”.

  3. Construction Gustave Eiffel was the contractor and the tower was named after him. During the construction only one person died. The Eiffel Tower weighs 7,000 tons. The base of the tower is 412 square feet.

  4. What is theSignificance of The Eiffel Tower? The Eiffel Tower has become a symbol of Paris, and a symbol of France, known today by people all over the world. The U.S. cinema contributes to making the Tower a Worldwide known symbol. Every city in the world has its own symbolic building. New York City, New York has the Statue of Liberty. San Francisco, California, has the Golden Gate Bridge. Paris, France is a famous city with a wide variety of culture.

  5. Take a Guided Tour!! Control Room When open to the public, you can explore and journey to the top of the Eiffel Tower yourself. Also, there is the option of having a guided tour, which is recommended. While on a guided tour you are able to visit areas not open to the public. You can visit the old machine room, see a bunker, and visit the control room.

  6. Photographs When visiting the Eiffel Tower, you will be able to take amazing pictures of the City of Paris. The second floor of the Tower is known to be the best location for pictures!

  9. What You Will Find Inside On the ground level you will find a carving made by Bourdelle in 1929 called the Gustave Eiffel. This area is also a wonderful place to shop for souvenirs. Also, on the ground level you will be able to see the elevator machinery. The second floor has the FerOscope, which is an informational exhibit with light shows and interactive videos. Also you will find tower top observatory panoramic indicators, the Cinieffel, Exhibitions of the Tower, and a section of the Eiffel Tower’s old spiral staircase. On the top floor there is top rated dining and amazing panoramic views.

  15. It is an Iconic Establishment What is the importance of the Eiffel Tower? The Eiffel Tower is important to the world because it is a part of history that symbolizes strength and challenge. The Eiffel Tower is a historical monument and it is one of the oldest architect structures in the world. The greatest reason why you should visit the Eiffel Tower is because it represents the city of Paris, France. Paris has beautiful chateaus and museums, but the most well known landmark is the Eiffel Tower.

  16. Off to Paris, France! Creating this project has inspired me to go to Paris to visit the Eiffel Tower and I hope it has interested you also. It is the most well known landmark recognized by people everywhere. The reason I want to visit the Eiffel Tower is because it an Iconic Establishment and it represents the history of the city of Paris, France.
