Item 1: Introduction • Tribute to Claude Sauvageot • Objectives: • ADOPT the agenda • APPROVE the Summary Records of the 7th and 8th Meetings • ELECT a new Chair and Bureau member • DISCUSS the update on INES and INES-related activities
Item 2: INES Network Presentations • Objectives: • REVIEW the outcomes of the LSO and NESLI Network meetings • DISCUSS the new work of the Networks in 2012, especially: • LSO: Development of PIAAC-related indicators • NESLI: New indicators for EAG 2012 • RENEW the mandate of Statistics Canada to administer the LSO Network.
Item 3: Production of Education at a Glance 2012 • Objectives: • PROVIDE FEEDBACK on Table of Contents for EAG 2012 • REVIEW the production timeline for this year’s edition
Item 4: Reports from the Expert Groups • Objectives: • DISCUSS the progress of the expert group on early childhood education and care on the ISCED 0 indicator developed for EAG 2012 • DISCUSS the outcomes of the quick survey launched by the expert group on the financial management of university buildings, and DETERMINE how to address this issue in EAG 2012
Item 5: Outcomes of the Second INES Priority Rating Exercise • Objectives: • DISCUSS the outcomes of the priority rating exercise
Item 6: Breakout Group Discussions • Objectives: • Group 1: RECOMMEND PRIORITISED ACTIONS for improving indicators with a low/moderate need for improvement • Group 2: RECOMMEND STRATEGIES to improve lower-rated indicators and indicators in need of adjudication • Group 3: DETERMINE THE IMPLICATIONS of the rating exercise for Network-related indicators and indicators under development
Item 7: Reports from the Breakout Groups • Objectives: • PRESENT AND DISCUSS outcomes of the small group discussions • RECOMMEND actions to be taken in the 2013-14 INES Programme of Work and Budget in light of the priority rating exercise, to be presented to the INES Advisory Group and Education Policy Committee
Item 8: Progress Reports on Indicator Development Work • Objectives: • DISCUSS the revisions to Indicator B7 and DECIDE on the inclusion of these new elements in EAG 2012 • DISCUSS the progress report on trend data analysis and MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS on how these data could be used in Education at a Glance • REVIEW the results of the ad hoc survey on upper secondary completion and DECIDE on the inclusion of these new elements in EAG 2012
Item 9: International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) • Objectives: • DISCUSS the proposal for the design of the next UOE data collection • RAISE ISSUES that are in need of further clarification and guidance
Item 10: Planning for Education at a Glance 2013 • Objectives: • COMMENT on the revised production timeline for EAG 2013 • DISCUSS which indicators are of highest value and should be included in EAG 2013 • PROVIDE FEEDBACK on the potential challenges anticipated in light of the revised timeline
